Hobbywing Xerun AXE4987SD 1600kV R3S Crawler Motor

The XeRun AXE 4987 SD R3S is a sensored FOC brushless motor developed specifically for large crawlers in 1/5 and 1/6 scale. It delivers the torque and the ultra smooth low-speed control a heavy scale build needs: zero cogging, immediate response and enough reserve to tackle the toughest terrain.

At 49.5 mm diameter and 87 mm can length the motor fits into comparatively tight builds while providing around 8% more power than motors in the same class, which translates into improved acceleration and higher efficiency.

At its heart sits the built-in high-precision magnetic encoder: it resolves rotor position around 60 times more accurately than the Hall sensors used in standard sensored brushless motors and, thanks to very consistent three-phase signals, continuously feeds the ESC a clean position signal. Paired with the XeRun AXE Plus R3 ESC the result is a drivetrain whose low-speed behaviour and low-end torque go well beyond what a conventional sensored system offers.
